A 30 minute sketch
Olivia "Liv" Perrotto, a teenager from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, fighting pediatric sarcoma and a huge SpaceX fan, drew a spacesuit wearing Shiba Inu inspired by Elon Musk's dog Floki. She named him Asteroid.
Polaris Dawn
Zero gravity indicator
The Polaris Program asked Liv to design the mission's zero gravity indicator. Her drawing was turned into a plush toy and carried aboard Crew Dragon.

Asteroid floats
The capsule reached microgravity and Asteroid floated through the cabin, the visual signal that the crew had entered zero G. Liv watched from the ground.
For the kids
St. Jude
At Liv's request, replica plush sales went to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She wanted kids facing illness to see that if a stuffed dog could reach space, they could reach their dreams.

Liv passed away at 15. Her mother shared eight questions Liv had written for Elon Musk. The last asked whether Asteroid could become SpaceX's official mascot.

After Glenn Beck amplified the story, Musk answered the questions. To the last one he replied "Ok 😀". Asteroid became SpaceX's mascot, and the community turned the story into a memecoin.
